Vitamin E
Antioxidant and barrier-strengthening skincare
Vitamin E is the fat-soluble antioxidant that the skin barrier cannot do without. It is naturally embedded in the skin's lipid layer, protecting the fatty acids in cell membranes from oxidation, but is gradually depleted by UV radiation and environmental pollution. Replenishing it from the outside is one of the simplest and most well-documented ways to strengthen the skin's long-term resilience and maintain a healthy and well-functioning barrier. At SKNLÛX, you will find a carefully selected range from leading K-beauty brands.

Vitamin E is a group of eight fat-soluble compounds, of which alpha-tocopherol is the most biologically active in the skin. This substance holds a unique position in the skin's lipid layer, neutralizing lipid peroxide radicals that arise when UV radiation oxidizes the fatty acids of cell membranes. It is continuously regenerated by ascorbic acid in a synergistic antioxidant system, making the combination of tocopherol and ascorbic acid one of the most effective photoprotectants in skincare. Tocopherol also strengthens the barrier function, reduces transepidermal water loss, and improves skin softness and elasticity. Anti-inflammatory properties through inhibition of prostaglandin synthesis make it soothing for redness and irritation. In Korean skincare, it is used in serums, face oils, and overnight creams, combined with squalane and ferulic acid for enhanced antioxidant protection. It is found in formulations for dry, mature, and environmentally stressed skin that needs deep nourishment and protection. Regular application results in noticeably softer, more nourished skin with strengthened protection against external aging, oxidative stress, and environmental damage to the integrity of skin cells.
